I made this tree from metal threads and plastic pearls at school when I was a child, yet unaware of its later significance. During the Axolotl album creation process, I discovered the tree again by accident and it was immediately clear that this would be the album cover. It is a metaphor for my own personal and artistic evolution from my former artistic alter ego, Blake Day, to my new and true authentic self under my real name, Michael Achim; but it is also a symbol for everybody's growth and evolution.
